Uno degli ensemble più interessanti della scena contemporanea porta sul palco di FOG 2024 una performance diversa da ogni tipo di concerto. II string Quartet di Morton Feldman, concepito nel 1983, è un’opera culto della musica contemporanea, una sfida per chi ascolta ma soprattutto per chi suona. Il Quartetto d'Archi di Torino è fra i pochissimi al mondo a eseguirlo integralmente, per una durata complessiva di sei ore in cui il pubblico viene condotto in un viaggio monumentale e minimale, dove la musica diventa gradualmente parte dell’ambiente e il tempo viene sospeso in ipnotiche variazioni. Un movimento unico, una porta da cui scrutare e ascoltare l’infinito.

The Lodger film muto di Alfred Hitchcock con Musiche di Ezio Bosso , progetto del 2005 per il Festival di cinema Muto Strade del Cinema di Aosta riproposto la scorsa estate dallo stesso festival

Quartetto d'archi di Torino con l'album The Four Letters.
Pubblicato a settembre 2022 in occasione di quello che sarebbe stato il 51' compleanno del Maestro Ezio Bosso, è uscito il 15 febbraio 2023 in vinile in edizione ultra limitata (500 bianche e 500 rosse). 

L'album contiene il Quartetto N.4 “The Four Letters” ispirato a quattro lettere di giovani partigiani della seconda guerra mondiale ed eseguito dal vivo solo un paio di volte, nonché quattro estratti dal Quartetto N.2 “Quattordici danze per bambini intorno a un buco”, inserito nel 2003 da Gabriele Salvatores nella colonna sonora di “Io non ho paura” e che è valso a Bosso la nomination agli Oscar.

La scelta degli esecutori è caduta invece con grande naturalezza sul Quartetto di Torino, storico primo destinatario di queste composizioni e protagonista con il giovane Ezio di molte sue prime esecuzioni sin dal 1994 con lo spettacolo teatrale Alcina nel ricco milieu torinese dei primi anni ’90.

We are pleased to be able to confirm that the Quartetto D’Archi di Torino will be performing an hour long selection of works by Ezio Bosso to celebrate the conclusion of the exhibition of The Tree of Life Which Is Ours in the ECC’s Personal Structures - Reflections installation at the Giardini Marinaressa.

As you know, the work of Bosso was an inspiration for the sculpture, especially the 4th movement entitled The Tree’s Sacrifice. And while it is not possible to bring an entire symphony orchestra into Palazzo Mora, the Quartetto are life long collaborators with Bosso and are dedicated to performing his repertoire. They will create a program that exemplifies the spirit of Bosso’s inspiration.

The Del Deo Foundation will underwrite the costs of bringing the musicians to Venice and all their fees. Because they are a string quartet, they will require no pianoforte, but we would like the ECC to provide them with proper seating and music stands, as they may require for performance. We would also like to coordinate with you, notices and promotion for the concert, to augment and enhance the exposure for both The Tree of LIfe Which Is Ours and the entire Personal Structures project to our mutual benefit.
